The Self Humiliation of Christ

Pastor Young continues with his series in the book of Philippians, preaching from Philippians 2:5-8. God's love for us in Christ Jesus is beyond our understanding. Jesus emptied himself and became nothing, taking on the form of a servant and became obedient to death, even death on the cross. He never emptied Himself of His deity. He was a man and God on that cross! Because of the Father's love for us, Jesus took our sin in full and became the second Adam, bringing us back to oneness with the Father that was lost with the first Adam. He grasped to lower Himself in love for us. Therefore, let us not grasp for the things of this world, but rather hold to love, and to love others because of what God has lavished on us through His precious Son.
